Art Club at All Saints, Lawshall, March 14th

Today we looked at the work of American artist Charley Harper who was famous for his

stylised wildlife illustrations. The children looked at his bird illustrations and thought about the simple shapes, great colour combinations and lack of realistic details.

They drew a bird using simple geometric shapes and cut it out and collaged on both sides using bold pattern and colour. Pattered wings were attached to each side and twigs to represent the skinny birds’ legs.
